Soccer played by 3 and 4 year-olds is a comedy, not a game. When we arrived on the field three boys from the other team were in tears and we hadn't even started playing. When we did play there was a constant flux of players on the field. (You'll see what I mean in one of the videos.) And then there's the whole concept of "taking turns". The little ones are just beginning to understand the concept and then they are placed on a soccer field where it no longer applies.
Oh! The confusion and the tears.
Fortunately, a rolling ball is a great distraction so the distress didn't last long because another opportunity to "take a turn" was literally rolling by.
In this first video, the coach had lined all of the players up so the other team could kick off. She told them to "stay there". O was VERY good at listening to the coach. It took me a second to understand why she was doing what she was doing, or wasn't doing. I even felt a pang of sadness when I saw her confusion, but her excitement made up for it.
She's a little oblivious about the object of the game. What do you think?
Os understanding of soccer is "running."
O is done with the game. I had been sitting on my chair up until this point and when O noticed I wasn't sitting, well, you'll see.

What fun!
i think your new blog is totally inspired and a celebration of soccer even if it was subliminally. hahaha! loved it. i should have videoed Reed/Will's final game (which was the only time they really gamed. the season was just drills) Will got to mostly stand on the sidelines while the coaches urged the big kids to pass to him. I'm guessing they didn't want him in the fray with the big kids (7 year olds) so they were protecting him I assume. Reed just ran around like a chicken with his head cut off yelling at the other kids. Yup! he's mah boy~~~~ hahahahaha
what's the scoop? you throwing a flag up or what warrior wife!
